What Symptoms Were You Experiencing?

I suffered for the past 2 years repeatedly passing out at restaurants, at work, and even while driving. It got progressively worse that I ended up in a hospital emergency room with a blood pressure reading of 185/20. After being admitted 4 times to two different hospitals and 7 cardiologists later, nothing was done to treat my symptoms. They just implanted a heart loop recorder and was repeatedly sent home and told that it was just panic attacks, anxiety, or stress. I felt I was being dismissed and wasn’t being taken seriously. The quality of my life really started going downhill.

Tell Us About Your Experience With Dr. David Chang.

Having had such a bad experience in the past, I was extremely frustrated and started to lose hope. Then someone recommended Dr. David Chang at Cardiovascular Specialists of New England. Understandably, I was a bit cynical at this point. But from the moment I arrived at the practice to when Dr. Chang walked in, his smile immediately put me at ease. He went through all the EKG results, heart monitor readings, and notes from when I was admitted to the hospital. He told me not to worry and that he would do everything he could to help me.

Dr. Chang explained I was experiencing multiple syncopal episodes caused by supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). He recommended the cardiac ablation procedure, which he explained extremely thoroughly, made sure I understood completely, and assured me this course of treatment would help. He went on to say that he would not give up on me.

What Were Your Symptoms After the Cardiac Ablation?

I had the procedure on a Thursday and stayed overnight, rested on Saturday, then went to church on Sunday, and right back to work on Monday with no fainting spells. Dr. Chang even followed up and called me twice to check up on me. I just couldn’t believe a doctor would call me personally and was so kind and genuinely concerned about my well-being.

How Do You Feel Now, and Any Other Comment or Feedback Would You Like to Share?

I’m beyond thrilled that I can drive, go grocery shopping, and attend functions without having to call my friends or neighbors to pick me up!

I can’t help but get emotional every time I think of Dr. Chang and what he has done for me. Dr. Chang is an angel—a gift from God. I can finally live my life again. He gave me my life back!
