Dr. Fahad Gilani is an expert in the field of interventional cardiology and structural heart valve disease, presenting internationally on advancements in the field. His specializations include the use of minimally-invasive techniques for the treatment of heart valves (aortic, mitral, and tricuspid), patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defects, paravalvular leak closure, and other aspects of structural heart disease. He serves as a proctor and educator for numerous heart valve delivery systems, overseeing the launch of new programs across the country.

Dr. Fahad Gilani grew up in Brooklyn, NY and completed his bachelor of arts with honors at Cornell University serving as a prestigious Cornell Presidential Research Scholar. His medical doctorate with honors was completed at University at Buffalo School of Medicine and residency training at Yale – New Haven Hospital. He settled in New Hampshire after completing his interventional cardiology training at Boston Medical Center and structural heart disease fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He serves at the Medical Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program at Catholic Medical Center. He was the first physician in New England to use the Edwards PASCAL mitral valve repair system after commercial approval. He’s involved in clinical research on aortic stenosis and serves as principal investigator in the evaluation of TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) in moderate risk patients. Dr. Gilani is one of two principal investigators in a study evaluating how certain biomarkers can help optimize post-procedure treatment following a TAVR. He has publications in leading peer-reviewed journals on topics in structural heart disease.

He is a physician leader and Governor of the New Hampshire Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He was selectively featured as a Top Doctor in New Hampshire Magazine/Castle Connolly (2022-2024). In his free time, Dr. Gilani enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
